Get Ready for Action: Will Smith and Martin Lawrence Return in Explosive First Look at ‘Bad Boys 4: Ride or Die

Sony Pictures has unveiled the trailer for ‘Bad Boys 4,’ featuring the dynamic duo of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Titled ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die,’ this installment marks the fourth chapter in the beloved action-comedy saga.

Originating in 1995, the franchise follows the exploits of Miami PD detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, portrayed by Smith and Lawrence, as they tackle crime in the city’s underworld.

While the first two films were helmed by Michael Bay, ‘Bad Boys for Life’ saw Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah taking the directorial reins, a duo returning for this latest sequel. Joining Smith and Lawrence are an ensemble cast including Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Jacob Scipio, Melanie Liburd, Tasha Smith, Rhea Seehorn, and Joe Pantoliano.

Sony has announced the addition of Tiffany Haddish to the cast of the film, although her specific role remains undisclosed. Haddish has a strong connection with the Smith family, having previously co-starred with Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, in the 2017 hit “Girls Trip.”

“Bad Boys for Life” marked a notable comeback for the franchise, with a seventeen-year hiatus following the release of “Bad Boys II” in 2003.The 2020 sequel arrived just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, achieving considerable success with a global box office revenue of $426.5 million, despite the subsequent shutdown of theaters.

In January, Smith and Lawrence took to social media to announce the fourth installment, sharing a reunion video with the caption, “IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME!”

In “Bad Boys for Life,” Mike finds himself targeted by a young man named Armando, whose mother, Isabel, assigns him the task of avenging his father’s death by targeting those responsible, including Mike. The third film concludes with the revelation that Armando is, in fact, Mike’s son, setting the stage for potential collaboration between father and son, as hinted in a credits scene.
